BLOG SPOT - The Club is trialing a blog where visitors can seek feedback from the experts, celebrate successes or simply obtain information about the Maltese.

Anyone can read the comments by following the link Members/The Maltese Blog from the top menu. In order to post comments or to reply to those already on the Blog you will need to register. This is a straightforward process through which you will be guided .

Please be sensible in your posts as insensitive and offensive language will not be tolerated! Any such posts will be removed and the individual concerned will have their registration cancelled!

The Blog is intended to educate and inform and hopefully be constructive.

The Club would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new members joining the Committee, also to welcome back some the 'old' members for another term.

Welcome to Mrs M Maughan and Mrs C Parker joining us for the first time and to Mrs B Cozens and Mrs E Howgill who are returning after a short absence.

Newsletter by email!

We are still waiting for several members to supply their email addresses!

Thank you to those who have already contacted the Secretary and those who have said they wish to receive their Newsletter by post.

The Club is planning a quarterly Newsletter to be sent to members by email. Therefore, would members please forward your preferred email address to the Secretary asap (by email). Those without access to an email address will receive it by snail mail but of course you won't be among the first to get any hot gossip! The date of the first issue will be announced soon - but not before we have members email addresses!

The Championship Show, 18th September 2010 will be held at the Roade Village Hall, Baileybrooke Lane, Roade, Northampton NN7 2LS. Just off junction 15 of the M1.

Annual Points Competition

Two points competitions will run in tandem throughout the show year, starting 1st January until 31st December.

One will be purely for wins at the three Club shows.

The second will be for wins in Breed classes at other Open Shows and Ch shows where CC's are NOT on offer for our Breed.

The points allocation is as follows:

For the three Club Shows (Open & Ch)

4 for first in any class
3 for second in any class
2 for third in any class
1 for reserve in any class

For the second competition points will be allocated as follows:

3 for first in any class
2 for second in any class
1 for third in any class
1 additional point each for Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed. Where a Best Puppy is also Best of Breed only 1 additional point may be counted.

Winners will be presented with a perpetual trophy.

  

As a guideline to all members we will be maintaining a full point system which can be checked on our website at all times during the year, if you feel that a discrepancy has been made at anytime with your dogs points, please contact our points co-ordinator Barbara Cozens email who will be pleased to listen and correct or explain the calculation. It is the responsibilty of the owner to notify the points co-ordinator of wins at Open Shows whilst wins at Ch shows where no CC's are on offer for our breed can be checked online via Fosse Data or Higham Press.

The aim is to encourage newcomers to our lovely breed to show their dogs and support the societies which are kind enough to put classes on for us.
