It was a Great honour and privilege to judge at this years Crufts.. I would like to thank the committee for inviting me, also the two gentlemen stewards for keeping the ring flowing so nicely. Thanks go to all the exhibitors for entering under me and accepting my placings so graciously.
I was surprised to see a pet cut Maltese in one of the classes, I did place him VHC, there is no doubt while the Maltese coat is their crowning glory, good confirmation is the dog itself. I sometimes think that too much emphasis is put on the coat. After all confirmation of the dog is more important and this dogs confirmation was second to none, moving absolutely true. I am still puzzled why some of the overseas exhibitors find it necessary to puff the top knot up to such a height [at least two inches above the skull.] This then falls forward and distracts from the facial features, making it difficult for the judge to assess the shape of the head.

1st IR CH ZUMARNIK HOT PURSUIT CW12 SHCM (MISS N, MISS R C & MRS D P & MISS S WELBOURN, DOWS). What a spectacular dog to start the show 91/2 years old, superb confirmation all round. A cracking masculine head, full dentation of white strong teeth, beautiful coat. He was so alert. Congratulations must go to his owner for his first class appearance. He trotted around the ring like a 2 year old. Pushed hard for the reserve CC.

1st BENATONE PERFECT STAR (MISS S & MISS S FLANNIGAN & JACKSON) Nicely made little chap of 19 months. Most appealing and attractive head, good pigment, cobby body, lovely silky coat, moved with great confidence. He must be going places delighted to award Best Puppy.
2nd SUPERMAN KAZKOVYY LEV JULESVILLE (IMP UKR) (MR & MRS BLYTHIN) A nice youngster, not quite the body of 1st, still very young, just needs more time. The staining needs addressing otherwise good confirmation all round.

Smart looking chap of the correct size, nice cobby body with luscious dark eyes and dense pigmentation. Moved soundly in harmony with his handler

Neat shapely boy but I would have liked a little more body on him. I’m sure that will come. He has an excellent head with dark oval eyes and expression. Level top-line. Good tail set
3rd OSKAR PLJUS FLY-DON’T STOP ME NOW [ATC AV00628RUS] ( MRS O KARPOVA)
Slightly longer in body than 1&2, Decent breadth of chest, good shoulders, level topline ending with a nice tail-set. Rather erratic on the move and strung up a little too much.

Handsome head with excellent expression and pigment. Good dentation and good firm body with adequate hind angulation. Nice level topline ending with a good tail set. Presented well with a lovely white silky coat

Eye catching dog with good ring attitude. Well ribbed body and good muscle tone. Nicely placed shoulders. Moved well with confidence.

Another handsome man not quite the body of 1 & 2 He has a good straight front. Nice head, good pigment and correct eye. Level topline and good tailset.

Striking boy with excellent well ribbed body. Good dark eyes with plenty of expression, well placed ears with good feathering. Nice length of neck leading down to good shoulders and an excellent tailcarriage. Moved soundly around the ring.
2nd TAURO FROID JW [ATC AU00332LTU] (MRS P LUEPERTZ-DICKHARDT)
A smart chap , smaller in body than 1 making up with plenty of attitude. Such a pleasing head with good expression. Nice straight front, not quite the quality of coat as 1. Moved well.

What a quality class of open dogs. What more can be said about this well known champion dog. He has such a gorgeous outline. Beautiful head carriage with the darkest of pigments. Cobby body and wearing the silkiest of jackets. Presented in perfection. CC
2nd CH ZUMARNIK STARS N STRIPES (MISS N L WELBOURN)
Another stunning well known Champion dog with a gorgeous masculine head. Lovely reach of neck, spirit level topline ending with a lush tail. Moved like a dream round the ring. Such a hard decision between 1 and 2. ResCC.
3rd CH DIAMOND GEMENI OUT OF CONTROL AT SNOWKAI (IMP RUS) (MISS S & MRS A FLANNIGAN & DORNAN)
Another high quality champion dog, lovely head and good expression. Nice almond shaped dark eyes and halos. Good shoulder placement and adequate hind angulation. Moved round the ring nicely with his beautiful coat flowing.

What a sprightly lady of 12 years. Lovely head good pigment, eyes still with a good sparkle Full strong white dentation. Beautiful silky white coat. Strutted round the ring like she knew her way round, and was glad to be back.
2nd SUGAR PRINCESS FOR VONTESE (MISS Y M PEARSON)
A little bitch finer made than 1 but in good shape for her age of 10 years. Good pigment, pretty feminine head and silky coat. Move round the ring with style.

She stood alone but what a little star in her own right. Absolutely the prettiest of heads, darkest of pigments, lovely almond shaped eyes. Nice reach of neck holding her head up well. A nicely placed feathered tail, just needing a little more confidence to keep it up on the move. Made the most of her solo walk around the ring.

Very smart little bitch of excellent quality. She had the prettiest of heads with good pigmentation, good strong teeth and nice shoulder placement leading on to her straight top line, nice tail set with her coat straight white and silky. Very accurate on the move.
2nd BLACKPARK DOUBLE DIAMOND (MR G & MRS C URQUHART)
Another smart bitch, pretty feminine head with good pigment and correct length of neck. Nicely placed shoulders and good straight front legs. Level topline but I would like to see a little more weight on her. Moved true to form around the ring.
3rd VOUZIME QUEEN ELSA OVER ELLEONIA (MRS R GREEN)
Stylish larger type of bitch with plenty of substance [obviously likes her dinners]. Excellent head with good expression. Good sound front and adequate rear angulation. Good silky white coat. Moved well.

I like the name, Diamond White, can’t get nearer to the truth than that. The prettiest feminine bitch, with a pleasing head, excellent pigmentation, nice straight front with good depth of chest. Good spring of rib, spirit level topline and correct tailset. Moved with enthusiasm, I feel she will be getting top honours soon.

Stylish bitch with pleasing feminine head and lovely reach of neck. Finer in body than 1 with adequate spring of rib. Nicely groomed white coat. Moved nicely round the ring.

Standing proudly with 1 & 2, slightly taller in body. Overall pleasing shape. Good front and hind angulation giving her good movement. Nice white silky coat.

Most attractive exhibit, lovely head and expression. Good depth of pigmentation, excellent compact cobby body with a spot on topline. Silky quality coat, moved freely round the ring.
I like the name again, will watch for “sky’s the limit”.
2nd BLACKPARK DIAMOND LIL NAF (MR G & MRS C URQUHART)
Good feminine little girl, slightly finer in body than 1 but still a good shape. Nicely balanced head with good pigmentation and expression. Well prepared silky coat. Move well, unlucky to be against no 1.

Smart upstanding bitch, pretty head, nice mouth with good strong white teeth. Lovely reach of neck. I would just like to see a little more weight on her. Moved soundly round the ring.

Now to my Queen of the day: Such elegance in this bitch with an abundance of beautifully prepared silky coat. Her head is to die for, her dark eyes just followed me as I moved around her as if to say “don’t pass me by” She has the loveliest of confirmation. Superb reach of neck, good dentation and pigment, standing four square and just glided round the ring filling my eyes with a beautiful picture. Pleased to give her the CC and BOB.
2nd CH BENATONE KINKY BOOTS (MISS S MISS T JACKSON & DAWSON)
A well known champion bitch. Not much I can say that has not been said before. She is quality through and through. Shown to perfection. Moved like a dream around the ring. Another with an abundance of beautifully prepared coat of the correct texture. A tough decision between 1st and second. Res CC

A smart looking bitch, she held her own in such good company. She had all the right attributes. Would have just liked a little more of her. She showed well in this high standard and excellent class of bitches.
