A1 List – For persons who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To have the support of the Maltese Club.
A2 List – For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by The Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of the Maltese Club.
A3 List (Specialists) – Requirements include
1 Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Maltese Club.
2 To have judged at 1 Maltese Club Show.
3 To have judged Maltese at 7 Open or Championship shows without CCs with an adequate geographical spread.
4 To have judged a minimum of 35 classes
5 To have judged a minimum of 75 dogs.
6 To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their 1st entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book.
7 To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures.
8 To have attended at least 2 seminars, 1 of which to be a Maltese Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or one assessment. This assessment to be arranged by the Maltese Club as and when required.
9 To have attended a Conformation and Movement ‘Hands-on Assessment’ conducted by the Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.
10 To have stewarded at 12 Kennel Club Shows.
A3 List (None Specialists)
Requirements include:
1 Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in Maltese) and have the support of the Maltese Club.
2 To have judged the Maltese at 8 Open or Championship Shows without CCs with an adequate geographical spread.
3 To have judged a minimum of 35 classes in the Maltese breed.
4 To have judged a minimum of 80 dogs in the Maltese breed.
5 To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed.
6 To have attended at least 2 Maltese Seminars and passed one assessment. This assessment to be arranged by the Maltese Club as and when required.
7 To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their 1st entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book.
B List (Specialists)
1 To have 4 years experience owning and exhibiting Maltese and have the support of the Maltese Club.
2 To have judged 12 classes of Maltese at Open or Championship shows without CCs.
3 To have judged 25 Maltese dogs.
4 To have attended 2 Maltese judging seminars and passed an assessment arranged by the Maltese Club as and when required.
B List (Non-Specialists)
1 To have 5 years judging experience in any one breed and have the support of the Maltese Club.
2 To have judged 15 classes of Maltese at Open or Championship shows without CCs.
3 To have judged 30 Maltese dogs.
4 To have attended 2 Maltese judging seminars and passed an assessment arranged by the Maltese Club as and when required.
C List
For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in Maltese and have the support of the Maltese Club. Listings would normally include persons who have judged Maltese at Limited and Open Shows but do not yet qualify for the B lists.
THE JUDGES SUB-COMMITTEE WILL ALLOW A DEGREE OF FLEXIBILITY TO ENSURE CONTINUOUS ENCOURAGEMENT WHEN ASSESSING PROMOTION WITHIN THE LISTS.
HOWEVER, THE MAINTENANCE OF THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF JUDGING MUST BE ESSENTIAL AT ALL TIMES.
IT IS IN THE INTERESTS OF ALL CONCERNED THAT THOSE JUDGES CURRENTLY ON OUR LISTS KEEP OUR COMMITTEE FULLY INFORMED OF ADDITIONS AND UPDATES TO THEIR JUDGING APPOINTMENTS SUCH THAT THE MALTESE CLUB CAN PRESENT ACCURATE AND UP TO DATE INFORMATION.
